Tell them what’s going
Removal is usually quoted on volume and type. A list or a few photos make it easier to quote.
- Furniture, mattresses and whitegoods
- Garage and shed contents
- Green waste or renovation materials
- Roughly how much: a ute load, a trailer, or more
Some items need special handling
Paint, chemicals, gas bottles, batteries and asbestos can’t go in general waste. Mention them; the provider confirms what they can take and how it is disposed of.
Donate and recycle first
Usable furniture and appliances may be accepted by charities or local buy-swap-sell groups. Ask the provider whether they recycle or donate where possible.
Plan around moving day
A clear-out before the removalist arrives can reduce the size of your move. A pickup after the move clears packaging and leftovers before your handover.
