Talk to the building manager first
Buildings may have set moving hours, lift-booking procedures and rules about protecting common areas. Check these before confirming your date. If your move involves two apartment buildings, make sure the allowed times work together.
- Floor number, lift access and any stairs
- Service-lift size and booking window
- Loading-bay location, time limits and truck clearance
- Building paperwork, protective covers or access requirements
Measure what matters
Check lift doors, corridors and apartment entrances against your larger furniture. Let the removalist know if an item will need stairs or dismantling. Do not assume a balcony lift or other specialist method is available; discuss and confirm any special handling directly.
Work out where the truck can stop
A loading zone may be shared or limited to certain times. Explain how far it is from the entrance and whether there are ramps, kerbs or security doors along the route. Ask your building manager what parking arrangements are permitted.
Make handover practical
Arrange access fobs and a contact at each building. Keep lift reservations, key collection and cleaning appointments in one plan. The removalist can confirm how much time to allow once they understand the inventory and access conditions.
