Give the whole picture up front
An interstate move usually depends on more than distance. The removalist needs to understand the volume, timing and access at both ends before they can say whether the job suits them and how they would approach it.
- Pickup and destination suburbs, postcodes and states
- Preferred loading and delivery dates, and any flexibility
- A room-by-room inventory or approximate volume
- Stairs, lifts and truck access at both properties
Ask how the move would be run
Interstate jobs may be handled with a dedicated truck, shared load or a partner at the other end. Ask who will load and unload, when your belongings are expected to arrive and how you will be kept informed. Coverage is confirmed by the removalist, not assumed.
Plan for the days in between
If your belongings arrive after you do, pack a box of essentials you can take with you. If the dates don’t line up, ask about short-term storage and how it is charged before you agree to the move.
Understand the quote
Check what is included: travel, tolls, fuel, accommodation for the crew, packing materials and any storage. Ask how delays are handled and what cover applies in transit. Moovers does not publish interstate prices; the removalist quotes for your move.
